How did they trace the car....

If i was in that situation, I would of claimed that the car had been stolen and I would of stashed in one of those storage places until things died down and then I would plant it somewhere, douse it with gas and burn it.....

The insurance would pay you for the car....and your back to a clean slate....

Cars have a lot of places with VINs, including microdot...

What would I do? Well, what could I do? The answer is nothing. I was a little misled by the title of this blog. I thought that thieves might be creating counterfeit auto parts or vehicles. Swapping VIN numbers is nothing new.

The bottom line is that, in difficult economic times, the scam artists are coming out of the woodwork. Unfortunately I keep the door closed to all sales people and I don't talk to anybody selling a service over the phone right now. It's just too risky to get caught in a scam at this time.
