It’s always a challenge to blend a race car with a road vehicle and make it a tasteful concept that isn’t too over the top. The SEMA show is all about that perfect balance in many of the vehicles on display and this year is nothing short of spectacular with many well-thought-out renditions and aftermarket modifications to popular new vehicles. Acura has taken the task to modify an all-new TLX for SEMA this year and we think they have the perfect balance, especially considering it has been one of our favorite vehicles in this segment that we have driven this year.
With the help of Galpin Custom Car Works and Acura Design Studio, this one-of-a-kind Acura TLX is a stunner with true form and function. The inspiration of this vehicle comes from the Acura TLX GT racecar. The Acura brand color, Andaro Blue, stands out as a crowd pleaser. The addition of several modifications, including its ADV5.0 M.V2 SL custom wheels wrapped in Pirelli 245/40/19 P Zero Tires, custom exhaust outlets, RSR Sport SI Series fully adjustable coilovers with 36-way dampening adjustment, Wilwood Superlite 6-piston brakes on slotted 14-inch rotors up front and 4-piston calipers on 14-inch slotted rotors out back, all make this TLX a show stopper.
