The author is wrong about the base price. It starts at $34000. The premium version at $36000

Incredible that such a beauty has such an incredible base price! Maybe in the New Year if I convince the wife.

This is indeed a splendid automobile. I am curious though about the three million vehicle (both Toyota and Lexus) recall recently announced having to do with the improper installation of driver seat carpeting relative to the shape of the accelerator pedal.

Evidently a new pedal is being designed (or has been designed).

There is some evidence of the pedal getting caught by the edge of a poorly installed floor pad and having caused accidents.

I would be curious to know what the new pedal looks like, and how, even with improperly installed driver's side floor pads, the shape of a pedal will prevent snagging.

I am also not sure why this was a problem for Lexus/Toyota at all, since it seems that the preponderance of evidence points to workmanship quality outside Toyota's control.

Well, if anyone has information regarding this feature, I would be curious.

In the meantime, this automobile is a fantastic addition to the Lexus line.

This Lexus is not the prettiest - looks more like a Toyota. Why not a hybrid IS?
