I really hadn't considered the difference between auto care in the various cities I've lived in. It makes sense to some degree--I mean, industries are usually driven by the local market. The disparity here in pricing and integrity though is pretty startling.

I've been the person whom they tried to take advantage of and I
told them to put the old parts in the box in the back seat and
when I got out of work the car wouldn't start so I had to walk home in the winter and when my son got out of work at midnight we went to get the car. It took use until one a.m. but finally get it started. Then in the morning we got it started again and it quit on the way to the repair shop. Luckly an police officer stops to see what was wrong and I told him and when he checked to see what the parts in the box were. They were from an pickup and I had a cougar car. I got a ride from the officer to the repair shop. I was furious that I'd been take advantage of and I told them they'd have to fix the car where it was. They put in new plugs and wires. The officer and my son both said there was never a wrench on the plugs. Being a woman I told the garage that I'd called an 800 number and was told that I( could refuse to pay for the work they never did and left the bill on the seat of the car when they left it at my work. I tore the bill up into confetti and through all over the buisness and told all those people who were there waiting for their vehicles to be sure they did the work they were going to be paying for. Always get an estimate and get your old parts and shop around for the best garage to do the repair.
