The American version of the Acura Integra Type R (AKA Honda Integra Type R in Japan ) has always been a great escape for the Automotive Tuner of today's age. Shown here i s t he Type R in rare form with a totally different power plant from it's original B18C5 coded engine. I am sure many people wonder why you would do a swap for only 20 or so more horse power. Well in this case you have a better base to work with to a certain extent. Tuners have moded the older B18 series, along with B16's, well beyond the manufacturers initial specs and intent. Not only do you have 20 more ponie s t o play with, you set a higher bar with "better" and "newer" technology to outperform its predecessor engine. While we can go on and on about how the K series of Honda motors are so different from the B series and the "ricer" chat of "why would you do this, the K series doesn't even rotate in the same direction and so on" we find ourselves with that extra bit of attention drawn when you hear the exhaust note of this vehicle shown here. With most of the shell of the vehicle remains in stock for you can obviously see the aftermarket glow. For starter s t he JDM front end which has been perfectly aligned with the rest of the body. Other item s t o notice are the extended wheel studs, carbon fiber C West Hood, a carbon fiber spoon style front lip, and the other mentionables found deep down under. Not only did this car get a fresh new K20a Motor is has some of the other component s t o go along with it's JDM Type R roots. The 6 speed transmission and the Limited Slip Differential, and cross drilled rotor s t o name a few of the items both to match the K20a's high redline and stock Type R wheels wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza RE010 rubber. This ha s t o be one of the cleanest looking Type R's with a K20a motor around. This car is a head turner especially when your old buddy pulls next to you with this bright yellow Type R and want s t o roll along. Too bad your old buddy gets left behind when you want to stretch the K20a's legs, they are long, and in control.
