BMW Presents One-Off M5 CSL
Rumors were going that BMW would drop its V10 engine, but that is now slightly invalidated because a brand new 5.5 liter V10 was recently presented at the company’s Nürburgring workshop. Next Generation BMW M5 Prototype (F10) Frontal Caught at Nurburgring

We were just tipped off from our friends at worldcarfans.com about new spy shots of the upcoming BMW M5 making it’s rounds around the Nurburgring. The front end sports the typical “camouflage” that they plaster on prototypes during testing to so-called disguise the vehicle. As if we can’t make out the front end of the new M5 shown in the images below. HA!
550hp V-10 Powered Manhart BMW Z4 Revealed
Not many tuners have touched the BMW Z4 let alone turned it into a tuners dream-car until now. Manhart Racing, a German company known for stuffing big V10’s and V12’s in cars that were never originally designed for them, has taken the BMW M5’s V10 and put it in one of their latest creations, a BMW Z4M. Already, the Z4 M is not slouch sharing the S54 engine from the BMW M3 producing about 343hp. Why not slap a supercharger on that inline-6, no no, Manhart had to take it a few notches up… BAAM… A big V10 powers this Z4.

With BMW’s introduction of powerful twin turbo engines (BMW X5M, BMW X6M) everyone is wondering what the new M5 will pack… a twin turbo V8 or maybe a twin turbo V10? What about the drivetrain? An 8-speed DCT or an improved version of the 7-speed SMG?

Video: Top Gear puts the Jaguar XFR against BMW M5
While the BMW M5 has topped Top Gear’s list of four door sports sedans for what seems like forever, the Bavarian bombshell suddenly has plenty of competition, the newest of which is the Jaguar XFR. TG wanted to see which vehicle was better on the track and around town, and naturally, Jeremy Clarkson volunteered to work as judge and jury.
BMW M5 vs. Cadillac CTS-V: The 4-Door Duel
MotorWeek’s heavyweight smack-down test video of the BMW M5 up against the new Cadillac CTS-V.
Who comes out on top? Well, you just have to watch the video and find out.
Mind you, the Cadillac has a 6.2 liter V8 with 551 horsepower and 551 lb-ft of torque and can run 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds. The BMW M5 has a 5.0-liter V10 engine with 500 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque with a 0-60mph time of 4.5 seconds. Those are just numbers right? Just wait and see… enjoy the video below!
