1000HP Hennessey Twin-Turbo Cadillac CTS-V Coupe V1000 Previewed
With this being an Automotive Enthusiast site, it seems like each month we post new creations coming out of John Hennessey’s Texas shop. After-all, his cars can be said to be among the fastest in America and we like to cover just about all of them on AutomotiveAddicts.com. One of the latest performance packages takes the Cadillac CTS-V to heights unheard of in a territory dominated by twin-turbo Italian sports cars and big American muscle Vipers, Vettes and Ford GTs. It’s the 1000+ horsepower club where you need not apply unless you have ‘marbles’ the size of Texas.

It was only a matter of time before John Hennessey and his crew took the new 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe to a new level. The ‘level’ that they took it to was 700 horsepower and 740 pound-feet of torque out of the supercharged LSA V8 engine. In the video below John explains the torque is where it is at sending this beast down the drag strip to make a quarter mile run in 11.16 second at 124mph while its 0-60mph time comes in at 3.26 seconds.

Now that Cadillac has introduced a new CTS-V Coupe, it enters into a new category up against several other noteworthy sports coupes. Below are two new Cadillac CTS-V commercials further enticing me to buy one of these bad boys. Not sure if I want one but it sure is fast!

Then Car and Driver has posted a preview video that may lead up to a new comparison of their own in the magazine publication. This is much more than just a drag race as we know who may win that one. This is a competition to see which car has enough over-all potency in this segment.
Check out the videos below and then choose if you agree with the iconic magazines in this match-up.

Should we still have the debacle of whether the Americans and Japanese are chasing down the Germans in terms of practical performance vehicles? Or is that an oxymoron when you mix the words “practical” and “performance” in the same sentence? Maybe Cadillac will help you clear things up with its new 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.
