Ultimate Factories: Camaro
Our friends at Ultimate Factories are at it again this week, giving us a first hand view of the build process of their highly acclaimed new Camaro. It’s an 18 hour build process involving both humans and robots which is fine tuned to produce 1 brand new Camaro every MINUTE! Meticulous work is required in many aspects of this build, as they use 734 robots to perform the almost 5,000 spot welds required on each Camaro body. Also, the new Oshawa Car Paint Shop, completed in 2007, finishes an average of 150 cars an hour. This is big industry at its finest, and we are lucky to be able to see this process from beginning to end.

So this past Saturday, August 8th, 2009 was another Automotive Addicts (AA for short 
) car meet.
At the first show (9am) there were about 180 cars! It was a record turn out for us. There were a lot of really nice cars and lots of cool people.

General Motors officially revealed a Chevy Camaro Transformers Special Edition. To all of the enthusiasts who may have happened to put a transformers badge on the side of their new Camaro, do not worry; you will not be called a poser any longer. That’s right, the new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition sports Autobot insignia fender badges and wheel caps, Transformers-logo doorsill plates, gloss-back rally strips with Transformers logos and an embroidered Autobot insignia on the center console of the interior. YAY! They may have over-did it a bit when it comes to the Autobot insignia but nonetheless, you can brag to your friends that this is the real-deal and not something that you glued onto your new Camaro yourself.

What ingredient besides raw torque, raw horse power, a big V8 and American enginuity makes a modern American muscle car complete? The exhaust note for one! You cannot take that away from a new American muscle car or you will just get plain laughed at. Which one sounds the best? I knew you would ask and that’s why we have provided a video (courtesy of Edmunds) of the New 2010 Chevy Camaro SS, Dodge Challenger R/T and 2010 Ford Mustang GT expressing their true colors (red white and blue) through the exhaust pipe! Put that sound in your pipe and smoke it!

2010 Chevrolet Camaro: Motor Trend Test Drives 2010 Chevy Camaro

Can you believe it has been about 7 years since the last Chevy Camaro rolled off the assembly line? Wow, I sure can’t believe it. I guess it is time that it came back and the new one does not disappoint with a tested 0-60mph time of 4.6 seconds (SS V8 automatic) as tested by Motor Trend with an automatic tranny. That’s pretty impressive! I just hope these numbers are not fudged by GM paying off Motor Trend (behind closed doors). That would put the new 2010 Camaro just ahead of the new Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang. The American muscle is back! Maybe this will help SAVE the big 3 from a disaster about to happen. What do you think?

Transformers 2 Footage Released by GM at Chicago Auto Show

General Motors has just released an exclusive video of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, Directed by Michael Bay, showcasing the Autobots – including the new Chevy Camaro, Volt, Beat, Trax and the Corvette Centennial Concept (Corvette Stingray). This should be a pretty good movie!
I have to admit, the video below looks like a futuristic Commercial for General Motors if you ask me, but who am I do judge. GM, do your thing! Whatever works for you I support you because it is an American brand and we all know we need to support our American brands to get this economy jump started again. Maybe “Jolt” or aka the Chevy Volt in Transformers 2 can help JUMP-START it for us?!?!?
