Not knowing where the new BMW 5-Series GT falls in place of a segment, Hamann attempts to properly puts it in its rightful place as a modified 4-door hatchback/sedan/wagon/whatchamacallit. Hamann offers a stylish body kit with revised rear apron, side skirts, front and rear spoilers, 22-inch Anniversary Evo wheels, stainless steel exhaust system and even an air suspension lowering module for the 530d, 535i and 550i.

No doubt that the Hamann 5-Series GT is an improvement over stock but it still is not ‘good-looking’ in my opinion especially when compared to other Hamann modified BMWs.

HAMANN turns BMW 5 series Gran Turismo into top-class crossover between SUV and limousine

HAMANN Motorsport has given the current BMW 5 Gran Turismo a significantly more dynamic appearance and turned the crossover between a comfortably spacious SUV and an elegant limousine into one of the most exclusive multi-purpose vehicles in the luxury class. As a renowned specialist of exquisite modifications for BMW automobiles, HAMANN is offering powerful performance improvements, noteworthy sportiness when it comes to engine components and an aerodynamics programme with exciting styling for the Gran Turismo in the 5 series.

The high sitting position of a SUV, the versatility of a van and the exclusive feeling of spaciousness of a limousine: The BMW 5 series Gran Turismo developed specifically for the US market is already an unusual top-class, multi-purpose vehicle when it leaves the plant. The HAMANN motor specialists have developed a powerful performance gain from 245 PS (180 kW) to 275 PS (202 kW) for the 5 series GT 530d. The torque, an even more important factor when it comes to driving pleasure, simultaneously increases from 540 Nm to an impressive 620 Nm at 1750 RPM. Thanks to HAMANN Motorsport, the 5 series Gran Turismo 530d, whose performance is enhanced due to optimisation of the engine characteristics by means of reprogramming of the series Motronic, boasts 20 Nm more torque than the standard 535d, and that for only a fraction of the surcharge actually due.

Befitting its image, the modified Gran Turismo boasts gigantic 22-inch tyres: The elegantly styled HAMANN alloy wheel ANNIVERSARY EVO has been specially developed for the requirements of heavyweight, truly massive vehicles. In line with HAMANN’s philosophy on modifications, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and the use of special aluminium alloy ensure maximum load capacities at low weight. HAMANN ANNIVERSARY EVO designer wheels for the BMW 5 Gran Turismo are available in the sizes 9.0 x 22 for the front and 10.5 x 22 for the back. Wide-base tyres are fitted front (265/30ZR20) and back (295/25ZR20).

Fear not Americans.  This invasion is not Normandy-esque, our M1 Garands and MG 42s are still locked up, there is no beach, and the only injuries sustained are from jaws hitting display stands on the floor of the Frankfurt Motor Show.  Ferrari is making a strong showing this year with their new California being displayed in silver with a stunning red leather interior.  We have discussed this car at length and shown you videos in a previous article located here.

World class auto tuners Hamann brought their show stopping iteration of the California to Frankfurt as well.  Upping the power by 20% via proper engine management and a custom designed exhaust system should make those yearning for more horsepower satiated with rev happy delight. While adding front and rear spoilers, side skirts, a carbon fibre hood, and a rear diffuser to increase grip and handling to make this front engined Ferrari perform more like its mid-engined counterparts.  While the production California is an acquired taste, Hamann’s take appears much sportier, and may, (dare I say?) even be easy to look at.

What could be considered to be “the Oscars of the car modding world”. The Tokyo Import Show brings out some of the best tuning/modding companies in the world, along with a variety of high quality car parts manufacturers.

Some of the wheels in these pictures are worth more than a 3 series! That is just nuts if you ask me. There are definatly some hot modded cars in the gallery but then there are others that make you go “HUH? Why would you do that?!?”

The infamous G-Wagon is not “G” until you trick it out with some wheels, accents and maybe some “go-fast” parts. Hamann, a well-known German tuner company, has done just that.

The Mercedes Benz G55 AMG is nothing hot off of the press but it continues to be that “fly” vehicle rolling down the street that tends to turn several heads. Hamann has taken several cars, including many German makes, and turned them into likable monsters. The Hamann Typhoon G-ride or Gelandewagen, is pimped out with 600hp by means of a HM600 power kit that includes new engine electronics, new pulley sets and transmission cooler.

With a 0-60mph time of 5.1 seconds and top speed reaching 162mhp, you can justifiably say that this is one Fast G-Ride.

Other Hamann accents and customized add-ons include a 24-piece carbon fiber trim set, velour upholstery, illuminated stainless steel door sill plats, aluminum pedals, LED daytime running lights, six tailpipe exhaust system, roof-mounted spoiler, revised rear bumper /w diffuser and 24-inch wheels.

Hamann is a serious German tuner that has pumped out some of the sickest looking BMW’s, Aston Martin’s and now they have tricked-out the Rolls Royce Phantom.

The Hamann Rolls Royce Phantom and two-door Drophead received a special Hamann treatment preserving a lot of the factory detail which is pure classic. Hamann has done-away with the standard 21-inch wheels for 23 inchers. The power has been bumped from 460hp to 535hp. The top speed of these heavy hitters has jumped to 186mph (300km/h) and the interior has received some sporty elements all specific for the Rolls Royce Phantom.

This isn’t your average Phantom that is all blinged out… this is truly “custom”

Okay, so it is an SUV, the BMW X6 tricked out in German tuner, Hamann, accessories including a power bump to the twin-turbo inline-6 found in the xDrive35i model to an astounding 360hp.

As far as the latest project by HAMANN-Motorsport is concerned, the name says it all: the Laupheim-based refiner called its latest creation for BMW X6 TYCOON. This description has its roots in Japanese culture and is originally a synonym for an extraordinary shape – a comparison which can also be transferred to the X6-makeover.

The TYCOON – an auto-body pack which sets benchmarks

Already the design department at HAMANN-Motorsport ensures that the TYCOON meets the expectations in his name. They designed and developed an impressive broad makeover for this BMW crossover model and ensured that all accessories reflect and perfect the shape of the car. The masculine appearance of the TYCOON is mainly emphasised by its new front wings and back wing extensions made of light composite material. They broaden the body by striking 60 millimetres. The perfectly designed side skirts render the optical connection while the front apron is an outstanding eye-catcher with its large air inlets and the LED daytime running lights under the serial headlights. At the rear section of the X6, the HAMANN-engineers added a three-part diffuser to the original apron. The back appearance of the TYCOON is enhanced by a rear- and roof spoiler. It goes without saying that all used HAMANN-components do not only convince with their design but also with their aerodynamics. They ensure an optimised air flow over the car silhouette and render an additional downthrust.

Perfectly styled from head to toe – the suitable rim in XXL format

The suitable rim for the broad makeover of the BMW X6 is the DESIGN EDITION RACE ANODIZED. The ultra-light forged wheel combines both agility and also elegance. The black rim star and the titanium bolting underline the dynamics of the wheel. The highly polished rim flange on the contrary gives the car a noble impression. HAMANN offers the 23-inch wheel with tyres sized 315/25 R 23. Special chassis springs fantastically enhance the light alloy wheels. The engine variation xDrive35d also turns into a racy sprinter: HAMANN is able to tease 320 PS / 235 KW and a sensational torque of 660 Nm at 2000 rpm out of the Diesel car. Engine performance kits for the xDrive50i are already in the final stages of the development process. Moreover, sport mufflers by HAMANN-Motorsport can be adjusted to any performance kit. The product range includes a two-pipe and also four-pipe exhaust system which render a sonorous and earthy sound.
