Lexus LS600h and GS450h Hybrids get Facelift and IS250 F-Sport Edition Revealed

Lexus, or as Autoblog calls it, Toyota’s Buick, has performed a little cosmetic surgery on the Lexus LS600h and GS450h. At the same time they have introduced an IS250 F-Sport edition that is suppose to make the IS250 “more sporty” I guess. Is this how Lexus is going to celebrate their 20 years of making some of the most reliable and luxury cars on the road? Probably!

BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept Video Revealed

Details on the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept come out ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show coupled with a new video. There has been a wide open speculation as far as the powerplant found in this new concept but now is known to be compromised of a plug-in hybrid system with a 3-cyl turbo-diesel engine. That astonishing factor of the equation is that BMW plans to get “M” (Motorsport) performance out of this plug-in hybrid claiming a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds while still able to get hybrid fuel saving figures at the same time.

Lexus Announces Suggested Retail Price of the New Hybrid Model

Yesterday, Lexus announced the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for the new HS 250h hybrid, which will arrive at dealerships in late August. The new model has the best combined EPA mpg rating of any luxury vehicle in the United States, emitting 70% fewer smog-forming emissions than an average new car. It received EPA-estimated ratings of 35 mpg when utilizing regular 87-octane gasoline.

Sell-Off of Saturn Brand Accelerated by GM

General Motors Corp.’s Saturn brand will be either sold off or phased out by the end of this year. Earlier announcements said that it would have been at least 2 years before Saturn would technically “go anywhere”.

Saturn’s General Manager, Jill Lajdziak, said the brand, once billed as a different kind of car company, most likely will be sold, given the interest of several buyers who have surfaced. The decision to “off” Saturn this soon was mostly due to all of the talks surfacing of potential buyers. That will allow GM to restructure faster and thus helping to grow the company. Read more
