The Detroit Auto Show, also known as the North American International Auto Show, has a reputation for being the premier U.S. auto show event. Even with our sagging economy, the U.S. represents the second-largest auto market in the world (behind China, of course), so you’d think that major manufacturers would want a presence at the largest U.S. auto show. In the case of Jaguar Land Rover, you’d be wrong. Read more

With the introduction of the all-new 2010 Jaguar XKR supercharged convertible, Jaguar has finally crossed into supercar territory with the 510hp supercharged AJV8 engine.
Not only is the engine and powertrain world class, but so is the dramatic new styling, bonded chassis, suspension, brakes, plus new interior ergonomics, workmanship and materials. The all-new XKR is competitive against the Aston-Martin Volante, BMW M6 convertible, and Porsche 911 Twin-Turbo convertible like never before. It is awesome to drive with all the power under your foot, so stiff yet very comfortable, that I sometimes forgot I was driving a chopped top, so responsive to my every input, (acceleration, cornering, braking), and with every elegant item inside in its rightful place for easy use, the car shot straight-up on my list of outstanding all-new 2010 luxury sport 2+2 convertibles.
2010 Jaguar XJ: The New Cat Revealed!

The all-new 2010 Jaguar XJ has finally been revealed, and it’s a big departure for the Leaping Cat crew from Coventry. Sure, it shares a number of outward similarities with the already-available XF, but benefits from being designed after the drop dead gorgeous C-XF concept (unlike the production XF). And it certainly doesn’t look like anything like the outgoing XJ, which may only be around seven years old but visually it comes off as much older. Read more

The 2010 Jaguar XJ will be revealed, tomorrow, by Jay Leno. In the meantime, they’re going to subject us to one more tease. Like the current iteration of the XJ, this new one is expected to use an aluminum chassis and bodywork, but this time the design won’t be limited to a trad rehash of the 1968 original.
Jaguar offered a first glimpse of the new Jaguar XJ at the Shanghai Auto Show and will be revealed on July 9th in London. The all-new XJ is the first car to feature the next-generation of Jaguar’s aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture and features a panoramic glass roof. All of Jaguar’s new ultra-efficient Gen III petrol and diesel engines will be available in the new XJ, including the already acclaimed V6 diesel and 510 bhp supercharged V8. The all-new XJ will go on sale at the end of 2009.

A Jaguar can be a friendly cat and then when pushed the wrong way it could be a battle that you will not win. The supercharged R versions of the new 2010 Jaguar XF and XK make their way to this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Both cars, XFR and XKR, share a supercharged V8 producing 510 horsepower and can spring from 0 to 60 at 4.7 seconds and 4.6 seconds respectfully.
With the plush interior that is traditional modern Jaguar these twin cats will pounce on a lot of car while still being classy and stylish.

2010 Jaguar XF Diesel S: 35MPG While Producing 443 lb-ft of Torque

For a big luxury car how many can you say has a serious punch and gets decent gas mileage at the same time? Even the Lexus LS Hybrid can’t do this. The new Jaguar XF Diesel European version gets 35 MPG (miles per gallon) while still able to tote around this big 4 door with 443 foot pounds of torque on tap. The new 2010 Jaguar XF Diesel can now run with the likings of the BMW’s twin-turbo diesel. The new dual turbo 3.0 liter with 240hp or 275 hp S trim model and up to 443 lb-ft of torque will be able to propel this new big cat from 0-60 in about 5.9 seconds and top out at around 155mph. If you are not paying attention that is a bit faster than the US versions of the 4.2-liter gasoline powered V8’s sold in America.
For all these years manufacturers have put so much emphases on performance and now it seems time to move that focus to economy but why not have your cake and eat it too.
