Jay Leno is known for late night and his test driving excursions. In a new video called “The Fast and the Famous”, Jay creates his first car mini-film where he starts off by saying “Every major city must have a great race track hidden in it somewhere”. That somewhere is the streets of Los Angeles in a homage to Claud Lelouch’s 1970’s C’etait un Rendez-Vous (Rendezvous).

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo ups the ante
Last fall, many will remember the unusual rivalry that came about between Porsche and Nissan all of which centered around the famed Nurburgring. Nissan’s then-new GT-R was said to turn a near unheard of lap time in stock trim around the ‘Ring while Porsche rebutted that Nissan’s new super car couldn’t beat their own Turbo or GT2’s lap time.
BMW M3 GT or CSL Making Rounds on Nurburgring?
It is all hearsay until we get a firm conformation on this but, spy photographers recently caught a modified BMW M3 making rounds on the Nurburgring and no one knows the significance of it. Automotive experts, including us, believe that this could be a rendition of a BMW M3 GT. If you remember back in the 1990’s BMW turned its E36 BMW M3 into a M3 GT version so it could compete in certain classes in long distances races. What we could be witnessing is a high-performance BMW M3, not saying the current E90 and E92 M3 is not a high-performance vehicle, but this could be something that pushes the envelope in terms of a M3.

We were just tipped off from our friends at worldcarfans.com about new spy shots of the upcoming BMW M5 making it’s rounds around the Nurburgring. The front end sports the typical “camouflage” that they plaster on prototypes during testing to so-called disguise the vehicle. As if we can’t make out the front end of the new M5 shown in the images below. HA!

Nissan GT-R Spec V On The Racetrack (new video)

From all of the new carbon bits, upgraded brakes and slightly more torque, the Nissan GT-R Spec V should (technically) make it around the Nurburgring faster than the normal version of the GT-R. Below is a recent video clip of the Nissan GT-R Spec V making it’s rounds on the Nurburgring. We can’t wait for the new numbers, oh boy!
Check out the over-boost light on the dashboard avobe. That is actually a feature that Nissan has included on the new GT-R Spec V. The over-boost will give you some additional torque but the system only engages from a steering wheel button and lasts for about 80 seconds. I guess this is like your little NOS button for your ricer fans. HAHA
