As a follow-up to our previous post on the teaser images of the upcoming Acura ZDX we have new official photos including one from Autoblog of the Acura ZDX on display at the New York International Auto Show.
It is rather obvious that the Acura ZDX is aimed directly at the BMW X6 with the low swooping roof line very reminiscent of the Bavarian crossover. The production ZDX will be powered by a V6 via an SH-awd 6 speed transmission setup similar to other current Acura models. While a bit sportier than the Acura MDX, the ZDX approaches to be even more car-like. Below is the press release of the new Acura ZDX with additional specs and information.

Turtle necks! For some odd reason every time I see a Land Rover Range Rover I see someone with a turtle neck shirt or sweater driving it. Maybe it is a status symbol for the preppy people. Don’t tell my uncle I said this because he happens to drive one.
The newest Range Rover Sport offers a 5.0L direct-injection V8 which in supercharged form puts out 510hp which is good for pushing this mammoth from 0 to 60mph in 5.9 seconds. The Sport version is all about sport with a slightly tweaked exterior but remains to have the classic look of distinguished people who wear turtle necks.

I bet when you start to think of JEEP you reminisce over the Wrangler, Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee right? Well, maybe you think about M.A.S.H. or an old war movie where they used the old-school Jeeps that made a lot of nose. What about the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has not been so “Grand” lately with all of the new crossover vehicles and other SUV’s the choose from. Well, that is suppose to end now with the introduction of the latest Jeep Grand Cherokee, the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that is suppose to put the “Grand” back into the Jeep Cherokee.
Jeep… ahhh, the Chrysler Corp. actually managed to pump out and sell about 300,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s in the late 1990′s. Now, with the shaky economy and all of the drama that comes with it the Grand Cherokee tried to hold its own by selling around 100,000 units making it still a big part of Chrysler’s loyal fleet of vehicles.
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be on display at the 2009 New York Auto International Auto Show.
Below is the full press release of the new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee including high-resolution images, specs and new features being introduced.

We already knew everyone was going after BMW right? Even Honda’s luxury division, Acura, has its eyes on targeting the Bavarian pacesetter even when it comes to BMW’s latest sports crossover vehicles including the X6. What is Acura’s answer to the BMW X6? It is the Acura ZDX crossover which is slated to debut at this year’s New York International Auto show this week. Also news about the new Acura ZDX is that it will be going on sale this fall. Expected power plants may include a turbocharged version of the widely used 3.7-liter 305hp V6 found in the MDX and RL or it could be derivative of the TL’s 3.5-liter engine with the addition of a turbo.

One question for auto manufacturers, such as Cadillac and Porsche… “Why do you plaster big Hybrid stickers and graphics on the side of your new Hybrid SUV’s?”
Okay, so we are not going to elaborate on car graphics today, we will leave that to the Fast and Furious post to do that. Anyway, Porsche has it’s new Cayenne S Hybrid on the road in Stuttgart. So what’s it compromised of? We thought you would never ask.
The new Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid sports an 8-speed gearbox matted to a 333hp 324lb-ft of torque 3.0 liter supercharged V6 with a 52-hp electric motor making a complete hybrid system.
2009 Audi Q5 Identity Theft Commercials – Sorry Lexus

What Does Audi and Identity Theft Have in Common? Nothing really, except a couple of commercials to promote the new 2009 Audi Q5 which happens to attack Lexus.
We have to slightly agree with Audi’s newest commercials when they have a street lined full of Lexus RX’s all the same color. That’s about right when you venture down the streets of a US suburb. Make sure it is one that does not have too many foreclosed houses and you may run out of hands to count the number of Lexus RX’s that you see. Yes, Audi has brought to our attention as to the mass over-population of certain cars but will we really ever see as many Audi Q5’s on the road as the Lexus RX’s? Probably not, unless this stinky economy turns around abruptly and I just do not see that happening any time soon.
Enough of the jargon, here are the 2009 Audi Q5 commercials “Identity Theft” below after the jump…
