The all-new 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 delivers the most power and refinement ever for a Ford SVT-tuned performance Mustang-and a few surprises, too.

The 2010 model demonstrates Ford’s continuing commitment to high-performance vehicles.  In addition to the numerous performance and refinement improvements inside and out, the 2010 Shelby GT500 is an estimated 2 miles per gallon more fuel efficient on the highway.  “We’re proud of the many enhancements that were developed jointly by the Ford and Shelby Automobiles team last year that we’ve now incorporated into the new 2010 Shelby GT500,” said Carroll Shelby.  “Building on what we learned to create the Shelby GT500KR, this new car offers a great combination of power, handling and braking.  It is truly a special car that is a great deal of fun to drive.”

The first time I tested a Ford Taurus SHO back in the early 1990’s I was so enthralled with the car that I picked up my wife and drove it 850 miles to Monument Valley, Utah.

I just picked up the all-new 2010 Ford Taurus SHO and I am so impressed that I wish I could drive the SHO to the moon, that’s how much it has been improved since the last generation.  Today’s Taurus SHO is so much more substantial and luxurious.

2010 Audi Q5 Review & Test Drive – A Smaller Q7

“Honey, I just checked the garage and someone shrunk the new Q7.”  Not really but the new 2010 is a smaller version of the popular Audi Q7 sport utility.

First introduced in 2009, the Q5 is a smaller, more fuel efficient, 5-passenger version of the excellent Q7.  It mimics the Q7’s design up front with Audi’s signature single-piece grille design, cat’s-eye HID headlights, LED daytime running lamps and lower bumper with round foglamps.

The Q5 is based on the current Audi A4 platform on Audi’s Modular Longitudinal Build kit.  The Q5 has sporty proportions and a muscular stance due to its long wheelbase and wide body and track.  The elimination of roof joint strips provides a high visual quality and minimized airflow. From the side you’ll notice the steeply raked windshield pillars, pull-out door handles and lower side extensions.  The rear features a wide opening hatch door dual exhaust tips below the bumper LED taillights.  Real aluminum trim is found up front, on the side around the green house and in the rear.  Audi’s passion for excellence in engineering and its hallmark of interior design, workmanship and quality materials follows its larger sibling.

2010 Audi S5 Cabriolet Review & Test Drive

With its introduction in 2009 as a midsize performance coupe with a standard 4.2 liter V8 engine, the S5 coupe turned on many coupe enthusiasts and auto journalists with the cutting-edge styling, V8 power and interior amenities.  Also, the all-new 2009 S5 coupe went against the trend of manufacturing smaller cars to help with the rising price of fuel.  This year Audi chops the top off the S5 and replaces the 4.2 liter V8 with a 3.0 liter twin intercooled supercharger unit backed up with the new 7-speed S-Tronic automatic transmission.  This strategy works because the new engine gives 20% better overall fuel mileage yet makes the same 325lb.ft. of torque as the larger V8 engine.  The supercharger also generates more low-end torque enabling the S5 cabriolet to match the 0-60mph time of just 5.2sec.  You can still get the V8 if you want but it is only available in the S5 coupe.
