This year, Subaru of America, Inc. proudly celebrated 16 years of charitable impact through its annual Subaru Share the Love® Event. This signature philanthropic event has become a cornerstone of Subaru’s commitment to making a positive difference in communities across the United States. The event, which runs from November 16, 2023, through January 2, 2024, brings together Subaru’s dedicated community of customers, retailers, and partners to support causes that leave an indelible mark on both a national and local scale.

Since its inception in 2008, the Subaru Share the Love Event has seen remarkable growth, with the collective efforts of Subaru and its participating retailers resulting in donations exceeding $256 million to various charities. The 2023 event aimed to push that cumulative total past the remarkable milestone of $285 million, representing a monumental commitment to giving back.

The event’s success hinges on the collaboration with several long-standing national charity partners, each of which plays a vital role in addressing critical issues across the country. These esteemed partners include:

1. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®): Subaru is the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA, an organization dedicated to safeguarding and improving the lives of animals. Through this partnership, Subaru has made a profound impact on the rescue, care, and adoption of over 116,000 animals nationwide. The support from the Share the Love Event allows the ASPCA to continue its mission of advocating for humane treatment and policies for animals in need.

2. Make-A-Wish®: As the largest automotive donor to Make-A-Wish, Subaru has contributed to granting life-changing wishes for more than 3,300 children battling critical illnesses. Research has shown that fulfilling these wishes not only brings joy to the children but also provides them with the emotional strength to fight their illnesses. Subaru’s commitment to Make-A-Wish embodies its dedication to bringing hope and happiness to those who need it most.

3. Meals on Wheels America: Subaru’s partnership with Meals on Wheels America has made a substantial impact on combating hunger and isolation among homebound seniors. Through this collaboration, Subaru and its retailers have delivered over 4.3 million meals and provided essential companionship through friendly visits to America’s seniors. This effort underscores Subaru’s commitment to helping vulnerable members of the community.

4. National Park Foundation: As the largest corporate donor to the National Park Foundation, Subaru supports critical initiatives aimed at preserving wildlife, history, culture, and youth engagement in America’s national parks. This partnership bolsters the National Park Service’s mission to protect these natural treasures for future generations and connects people across the nation with the beauty of these parks.

Subaru’s philanthropic approach during the Share the Love Event extends beyond these national charities. Customers who purchase or lease a new Subaru vehicle during the event period have the opportunity to choose one of these charities to receive a $250 donation. Furthermore, retailers can nominate up to two hometown charities in their local communities to receive an additional $50 or more for each vehicle sold or leased. Additionally, many Subaru retailers choose to contribute $5 to their registered hometown charities for every routine service visit during the campaign period.

The Subaru Share the Love Event is not just a testament to the brand’s commitment to corporate social responsibility; it also reflects the deep connection between Subaru, its loyal customers, and the communities they serve. It is an embodiment of the belief that Subaru is “More Than a Car Company.” Through their collective efforts, they continue to make a meaningful impact, spreading love and hope during the holiday season and throughout the year.
