For the 2024 model year, Acura is introducing a mildly refreshed version of its popular TLX luxury sport sedan, aimed at delivering more value to buyers seeking a combination of style, technology, and performance without breaking the bank. The Acura TLX has long been a solid choice in its segment, and the 2024 model brings a few updates to enhance the driving experience.

One of the standout improvements in the 2024 TLX is the inclusion of a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen as standard features. This configurable digital gauge cluster offers a unique mode in the sportier TLX Type S, providing essential performance data such as the rev counter, boost pressure, and a g-meter when the Sport+ mode is engaged. The Type S also boasts a head-up display with multiple display modes to cater to various driver preferences. However, the setup remains to primarily utilize the touchpad interface instead of moving to a touchscreen, something many consumers are asking for to somewhat mimic what is found in Honda vehicles.

Acura has embraced wireless technology, with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available across the 2024 TLX lineup. The inclusion of a wireless phone charger, built-in Amazon Alexa, and two new USB-C charging ports for rear-seat passengers adds to the convenience and connectivity features.

For those opting for the TLX A-Spec model, the 2024 updates focus on reducing road noise inside the cabin. Improvements include thicker carpeting, new front fender liners, and additional insulation materials around the B-pillars and doors. Acoustic glass in the front doors and a noise-canceling system further contribute to a quieter and more refined driving experience.

The exterior design of the 2024 TLX sees subtle changes, including a revised grille and new color options, appealing to both Acura enthusiasts and new buyers. Additionally, the standard wheel pattern has been upsized to 19 inches, adding to the car’s presence on the road.

Acura has also expanded its AcuraWatch suite of electronic driver-assist features. This comprehensive package includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, active lane control, traffic sign recognition, and blind spot warning. A new front sensor and camera system enhance the performance of these features, while the radar range for the blind spot warning system has been extended.

In terms of powertrains, Acura maintains the existing options for the 2024 TLX. The base model is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine generating 272 horsepower. This engine can be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, with a choice of front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The more performance-oriented TLX Type S comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6, delivering an impressive 355 horsepower. It also features a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, tuned specifically to suit the Type S’s sportier character. Acura has enhanced the Sport+ mode in the Type S, resulting in improved throttle response.

The 2024 Acura TLX is set to arrive at dealerships in late November, although pricing details have not yet been disclosed. As a reference, the 2023 model began at a starting price of $40,745, including destination charges. With these updates, the 2024 Acura TLX continues to be a compelling option for those seeking a balance of luxury, performance, and technology in a stylish package.
