Genesis is recalling 83,877 vehicles after discovering a problem that can cause the instrument cluster and center infotainment display to unexpectedly reboot while the vehicle is in motion. When that happens, drivers can momentarily lose access to key information, including the speedometer, fuel level, temperature readouts, and warning messages. Even a brief blackout of the main screens is a big deal because it forces the driver to guess at speed and vehicle status until everything comes back online.
The recall spans a specific group of 2025 and 2026 model-year vehicles, including the G80, Electrified G80, GV60, GV70, Electrified GV70, and GV80. According to the recall documents, the root cause points to a software logic issue tied to HD Radio memory storage. In certain conditions, that glitch can trigger the display systems to restart intermittently, which is exactly the kind of issue that can feel random and hard to reproduce until it suddenly happens at the worst time.

Genesis says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries connected to the issue at the time the recall was filed, but the company did log 237 complaints tied to the problem between September 26, 2024, and January 2, 2026. A production change that includes the remedy software reportedly began on November 26, 2025, meaning newer builds may already have the fix. For owners, that timeline helps explain why some vehicles might never experience the behavior while others could see it more than once.

In the meantime, Genesis recommends that affected owners disable the HD Radio feature until the remedy is applied. Owners will be notified by mail with instructions to visit a dealership, where technicians can confirm the condition and update the software as needed. Genesis also plans to push an over-the-air update for vehicles that are eligible. If you think your Genesis might be included, you can verify recall status through the NHTSA recall lookup tool using your VIN.
