I am always down for good old fashion drag race especially when the contestants include a selection of new exotic cars. The guys at Autocar get their hands on a new Benz SLS AMG, Porsche GT2 RS and a Lamborghini Aventador all at the same time. What do they do with these three beastly cars? They do what many of you reading this would do; take them to an open runway (or drag strip) to find out which one is the fastest. Sure, anyone can look up the stats of these three cars and see what they will do on paper. But what is the fun in that? Hit up the video below to find out which car leads the pack.

Champion Porsche in Pompano Beach, FL is selling Jeff Zwart’s record-breaking Pike’s Peak 911 GT2 RS. There’s no price listed on the Champion Porsche website, but the cheapest 911 GT2 RS that I saw had an “internet price” of $299,900, which is more than the car cost new. Since the Pike’s Peak GT2 RS is “historically significant”, you can bet that putting it in your garage will cost substantially more money than that. Whatever the asking price is, you’ve got this in your favor: Porsche built a limited number of 911 GT2 RS cars to begin with, and only one set a new record on Pike’s Peak. Depending upon the asking price, there’s a good chance that Zwart’s GT2 RS will appreciate in value over time. Besides, your stock portfolio won’t top 200 miles per hour.

Up close photos of the upcoming Porsche 911 GT2 RS at a dealer press event have surfaced. It is not all that much different from a GT3 RS in the looks department although under the rear bonnet is a mean flat six and a couple of turbos that together should output 620hp. The official debut of the 997.1 Porsche GT2 RS will be May 14th. At that time we should have several images for you to drool over.
