The connection between McLaren’s success on the racetrack and its road-going supercars has always been a defining part of the brand’s identity. Now, McLaren Automotive is commemorating one of the most significant milestones in the racing team’s history with the introduction of the McLaren Artura 1000GP by MSO, a highly exclusive special edition that celebrates McLaren Racing’s 1,000th Formula 1 Grand Prix start at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix.

Created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the Artura 1000GP is limited to just 10 customer vehicles worldwide, making it one of the most collectible modern McLarens. The special edition draws direct inspiration from the unique livery that will appear on the McLaren MCL40 Formula 1 cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri during the Monaco race weekend. The result is a road car that serves as both a tribute to the team’s racing heritage and a celebration of a landmark achievement that only a select few Formula 1 teams have ever reached.

The exterior design is where the Artura 1000GP truly stands apart. MSO craftspeople have meticulously applied bespoke 1000GP graphics across the bonnet, lower body sections, and mirror casings, creating a distinctive visual identity that immediately links the car to McLaren Racing’s milestone moment. Additional pinstripe accents on the front splitter and rear diffuser take inspiration from historic McLaren racing liveries, blending modern design with subtle nods to the company’s past.

Inside, owners will find a specially commissioned metallic papaya dedication plaque, a detail that reinforces the significance of the occasion while connecting the car to McLaren’s iconic racing colors. The package was carefully curated to reflect the determination, teamwork, and relentless pursuit of excellence that have defined McLaren Racing throughout its Formula 1 journey. According to McLaren Group Holdings CEO Nick Collins, the Artura 1000GP represents the shared philosophy that continues to unite the company’s racing and automotive divisions, carrying forward the vision established by founder Bruce McLaren more than six decades ago.

McLaren’s story began in 1963 when Bruce McLaren established his own team with a simple but powerful approach centered on innovation, collaboration, and constant improvement. More than 60 years later, those principles remain deeply embedded in the organization. As McLaren Racing prepares to become only the second Formula 1 team to reach 1,000 Grand Prix starts, with 10 Constructors’ Championships and more than 200 race victories already secured, the Artura 1000GP arrives as a fitting tribute to every race, every challenge, and every achievement that helped shape one of motorsport’s most celebrated names.
