With winter just about to hit the northern half of the country, Dodge is announcing a new series of AWD Charger models, meant to appeal to those wanting a dose of sport with their all-wheel drive traction. Available in four distinct models, all 2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport models get a gloss black “crosshair” grill and surround; polished 19-inch aluminum wheels with gloss black accents and all-season tires; a body-colored rear spoiler; a Beats audio system and a paddle-shifted automatic transmission complete with a sport mode.
The 2013 Dodge Charger SXT AWD Sport starts at $32,690, and includes the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Output is rated at 300 horsepower, thanks to a cold air intake and a low-restriction dual exhaust. Stepping up to the SXT Plus trim will cost you $34,690, but extra amenities include leather upholstery, heated front seats, ambient lighting, heated and cooled front cupholders, heated rear seats, a rear stabilizer bar and an alarm system.
If you want your AWD Charger in faster-acting form, the 2013 Dodge Charger R/T AWD Sport starts at $33,690 and comes with the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, rated at 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. Opt for the R/T Plus (which gets the same upgrades as the SXT Plus), and the price starts at $35,690. The mandatory destination charge will add $995 to prices referenced above.
Look for the Dodge Charger AWD Sport models to begin hitting dealer showrooms in the first quarter of next year.
