The first electrified plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler was sold in the first months of 2021, and it seems the prices are only skyrocketing since its debut. As of August 2021, the cost of the plug-in hybrid Wrangler had gone up significantly. According to reports, the initial price during inception was $49,490. This electrified plug-in hybrid vehicle now sells at $3,030 higher, and according to Jeep, it is the best-selling hybrid vehicle in the United States. The Wrangler 4xe comes in three models, which are the Sahara High Altitude, Sahara, and Rubicon. Sahara Wrangler 4xe
The Jeep’s power is supplied from a turbocharged inline-four bearing two electric motors. There is also a 14.0 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a total EPA of around 49 MPGe. Notable figures such as President Joe Biden is a fan of the vehicle, and he was seen test driving the Wrangler on the White House grounds. That was following an executive order that stated about 50% of all vehicles sold in the United States should be electrified by 2030.
The Sahara Wrangler 4xe is one of the models that come with different accessories such as a gladiator replacement hood. According to Jeep, the Sahara Wrangler 4xe is a getaway vehicle with an adventure-inspired cabin, including comfort-laden conveniences and elevated craftsmanship. Some of the comforts include the Jeep utility Grid and the Trail Rail system. The car is built with a standard 3.6-liter 285-hp V-6 which makes it a powerful vehicle. Currently, Jeep sells this vehicle at $52,520. The Sahara model comes with leather seats and 20-inch wheels, all painted black.
Sahara High Altitude
Jeep translates this vehicle to an iconic design with a body-color-matched exterior and a sleek interior. The car has a luxurious look thanks to the stylish door handles, exterior mirrors, and the body-color. Its roof panel can be opened to allow for fresh air. Those are some of the reasons why this vehicle now sells for $58,340.
Rubicon Wrangler
Jeep maintains that their Rubicon Wrangler 4xe can climb formidable obstacles thanks to the immense engine power. The vehicle can move at lightning speeds picking up 0-60 mph in just 6 seconds. The wrangler has an impeccable 375 horsepower and a resounding performance both off-road and on-road. With all these unique characteristics, the vehicle is currently priced at $56,220. The car comes with all-terrain 33-inch tires that can easily overcome obstacles. All three models have a 270-hp turbocharged inline-four that also has two electric motors. Power comes from a 14.0-kWh lithium-ion battery. All together, they produce 470 pound-feet of torque and 375 horsepower. The Wrangler 4xe comes with an electric-only mode that gives the user a driving range of up to 21 miles.
Jeep has yet to give an explanation on the rise of the Wrangler 4xe price. However, they said that the Wrangler 4xe is the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle now. In the first six months of 2021, Jeep has sold around 69,020 Wrangler units. The company has yet to disclose how many of those units are the plug-in-hybrid 4xe.
