Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (VWGoA) has secured an exclusive distribution agreement with Bugatti Rimac, marking a pivotal moment in the American luxury and high-performance vehicle market. The deal encompasses the importation and distribution of both Bugatti and Rimac branded models, bridging the gap between the legacy of the internal combustion engine (ICE) and the future of electric vehicles (EV).

This strategic collaboration follows the establishment of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture with Porsche, a significant move that has reshaped the landscape of high-end automotive technology. It’s worth noting that Bugatti was previously part of Volkswagen Group of America, and this new partnership signifies a rekindling of ties between the two automotive giants.

Under this agreement, VWGoA will further diversify its already impressive lineup, which ranges from mass-market Volkswagens to the pinnacle of automotive engineering, represented by the Bugatti and Rimac hypercars. Notably, Sascha Doering, the current Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Bugatti America, will extend his responsibilities to encompass the Rimac brand as well.

The signing ceremony took place during the prestigious Monterey Car Week, bringing together prominent figures in the automotive world, including Pablo Di Si, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, Christophe Piochon, COO of Bugatti Rimac, and Hendrik Malinowski, Bugatti Rimac Commercial Director.

Pablo Di Si, President and CEO of VWGoA, expressed his excitement about the continuation of their partnership with Bugatti and the expansion into Rimac models. He emphasized the commitment of their distribution network to offer an unparalleled customer experience, affirming the company’s dedication to maintaining the highest quality standards.

Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, underscored the significance of the U.S. market for both Bugatti and Rimac. He noted that the collaboration with Volkswagen Group of America would facilitate the evolution of a robust dealer network in the United States, combining the best practices of mass-market sales operations with the personalized, customer-centric approach that defines the Bugatti and Rimac brands.

The exclusive distribution agreement between Volkswagen Group of America and Bugatti Rimac marks a significant moment in the American automotive landscape. It not only solidifies the presence of Bugatti and Rimac in the U.S. market but also symbolizes a fusion of traditional automotive excellence and cutting-edge electric vehicle technology, promising consumers a broader and more exhilarating range of high-performance vehicles. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, this partnership exemplifies the commitment of these iconic brands to meet the demands of an ever-changing market and captivate the hearts of discerning enthusiasts worldwide.
