Kia’s unveiling of the facelifted 2025 EV6 signals a refreshing update to its electric crossover. The headline feature is the adoption of a larger 84 kWh battery, a notable improvement over the previous 77.4 kWh pack. This upgrade promises a range of 307 miles, slightly lower than the 310-mile estimate for the Light Long Range trim. However, the exact comparison awaits official EPA figures.
Despite the battery enhancement, power and torque figures remain unchanged, with the RWD version delivering 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and the AWD variant boasting 320 hp and 446 lb-ft.
Visually, the EV6 receives a series of styling revisions aimed at keeping it contemporary. Notable updates include new ‘Star Map’ LED headlights and a redesigned front bumper, while the rear features simplified lighting signatures and a revamped bumper design. Inside, significant changes are evident, with a curved panoramic display housing both the central screen and digital driver’s display.
The software of the updated EV6, powered by Hyundai Group’s ccNC, promises improved graphics and usability, along with augmented reality for navigation. The steering wheel has also undergone a redesign, now incorporating touch capacitive sensors for lane-centering assist.
In terms of technology and safety features, the EV6 packs a slew of advancements. Touch-sensitive controls, a premium Meridian sound system, and fingerprint authentication for vehicle access are just a few highlights. The safety suite is equally impressive, featuring safe-exit assist, Highway Driving Assist 2, and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2. Pricing and availability details for the updated model are pending, with anticipation for the potential arrival of the EV6 GT, which may offer enhanced features and performance.
Given the pricing range of $42,600 to $61,100 for the 2024 lineup, we expect just a slight increase for the 2025 model considering the updated and larger battery that gives the EV6 a longer range.
