2027 Aston Martin DBX GT Blends 717 Horsepower With a More Luxurious Personality

Aston Martin is giving buyers another way to experience its high-performance SUV with the new 2027 DBX GT, a model that keeps the outrageous power of the DBX S while dialing back some of its harder-edged personality. Rather than chasing an even more aggressive look or a faster lap time, the DBX GT puts greater emphasis on comfort, refinement, and the type of effortless speed that feels more appropriate for a grand touring Aston Martin. It is an interesting direction for the DBX, especially as the ultra-luxury SUV market becomes increasingly crowded with vehicles trying to outdo one another with horsepower and visual drama.

Power certainly has not been sacrificed. The DBX GT uses Aston Martin’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 717 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, with power routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Aston Martin says the GT can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and continue to a top speed of 193 mph, figures that put it firmly in supercar territory despite its size and practicality. Carbon-ceramic brakes are standard, with massive 16.5-inch front discs and 15.4-inch rear discs providing the stopping power necessary for something this large and this fast.

Where the GT begins to separate itself from the sportier DBX S is in its chassis tuning. Aston Martin has revised the dampers to improve compliance over broken pavement while retaining the body control expected from a performance SUV. The nine-speed transmission has also been recalibrated for smoother shifts, while revisions to the throttle pedal are intended to make power delivery easier to meter. Changes to the transmission mounting and additional dampers between the rear subframe and body are aimed at further isolating unwanted movement and vibration. The goal appears to be making the DBX feel calmer and more expensive in everyday driving without dulling the performance underneath.

The exterior follows the same philosophy. The DBX GT drops some of the more overtly aggressive detailing found on the DBX S in favor of a cleaner and more traditional Aston Martin appearance. Horizontal grille bars replace the mesh treatment, while body-colored lower trim gives the SUV a more cohesive look. A polished and satin-finished side strake adds some jewelry to the front fenders, and new 22-inch Satin Titanium wheels come standard with Pirelli Scorpion Zero all-season tires. Buyers wanting a little more visual attitude can move up to 23-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero summer tires. Even the quad exhaust outlets have been rearranged into a side-by-side layout, accompanied by a specially tuned exhaust note that Aston Martin describes as cleaner and richer.

Aston Martin has spent just as much time making the cabin feel more special. The seats receive intricate new embroidery that wraps around the shoulder areas and headrests, while an additional 0.4-inch layer of memory foam adds cushioning to both the front and rear seats. The rear outboard seats also feature more pronounced bolstering, helping them feel more like individual chairs, while contrasting upholstery can be used on the center seating position. An anodized metal drive mode controller, deep-pile carpeting, and additional upscale trim details help reinforce the GT’s more luxurious mission.

Refinement also extends beyond what passengers can see and touch. Aston Martin says structural changes and additional sound-deadening material in the doors and wheel arches help reduce road and mechanical noise, while acoustic laminated rear side glass further isolates the cabin. A panoramic glass roof is standard. Those changes may not sound as exciting as 717 horsepower, but they could be some of the DBX GT’s most important upgrades. When an SUV is operating at this price level, buyers expect it to feel exceptionally composed whether it is charging down a back road or simply covering several hundred miles on the highway.

The 2027 Aston Martin DBX GT is expected to begin reaching customers during the fourth quarter of 2026, joining the DBX S as Aston Martin reshapes the lineup and phases out the DBX 707 designation. Official U.S. pricing has not yet been announced, though early estimates place the starting point around $290,000. That puts the GT deep into exotic SUV territory, but its combination of 193-mph performance, a 717-horsepower V8, a softer ride, and a more elegant presentation could make it the more appealing DBX for buyers who want tremendous speed without feeling the need to advertise it at every stoplight.
