Mercedes-Benz reported today a considerable increase in second quarter sales rising 6% year-on-year with a total of 515,700 vehicles sold. The increase in sales is a result of the high demands for all-electric and top-end vehicles.
Sales for Mercedes-Benz grew across the main market regions, including Asia, Europe, and North America with delivers in Germany up by 23%, China up by 12%, and in the United States sales increased by 6%. In other markets across the globe sales for the second-quarter fell 12% to 20,700 units sold.
Electric vehicles have been a major driver in sales as of late for Mercedes-Benz with an astonishing 123% increase in passenger EV sales accounting for 56,300 vehicles sold. There were 96,106 total units sold in the USA during Q2 2023 where the EV sales increased a remarkable 608%. Among vehicles in the top-end, which include Mercedes-AMG, Maybach, and G-class vehicles, there was a 12 % increase helping to bolster the overall sales growth during the second quarter of 2023.
