Reportedly Ferrari will be launching a new 458 Spider GTS with a retractable glass roof. The 458 Italia was already rumored previously to sport a soft-top but now reports have hinted towards a retracting glass top similar to the one found on the 575 Superamerica. In such a system the glass roof would slide behind the passenger compartment.

‘A Real Kick In The Ass’ – Galpin Autosports 2008 Red Mist Mustang
The Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) 2008 Red Mist Mustang was built for super hero Red Mist in the movie ‘Kick Ass’, played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who you might know better as McLovin from the movie ‘Super Bad’.
Even though the GAS Red Mist Mustang is a ‘one-off’ built for the movie, it is a real Mustang that packs a solid punch, with a Rich Evans designed bodykit that turns heads wherever it goes.
GAS got involved with the movie when Red Mist director Matthew Vaughn came over to the GAS shops looking for a possible custom Mustang to use in the movie since GAS had already built several cars for movies in the past.

For more than 20 years, the MX-5 Miata has offered sports car enthusiasts a pure, simple, fun-focused roadster at an attainable price. Sticking to that simple formula has made the MX-5 the most popular two-seat convertible sports car in the world with more than 850,000 sold.
Substantially refreshed in 2009, the 2010 MX-5 receives minor updates such as a chrome strip on the door handles, and chrome bezels in the headlight clusters. The easy-to-lower-and-raise soft-top of the original Miata, and the 2010 model continues to set the industry standard. Unlike competitors’ models, the top can be lowered or raised with one hand, from inside the car, and requires no bulky or complicated snaps or external latches. The Z-fold design uses a simple, central latch handle that requires only a simple wrist movement to stow.

The new 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 is already a performance marvel that can be had for a decent price. For about $6,000 more you can take the new Mustang GT 5.0 to a level above the GT500 with Roush’s new Tuner Kit (part # 421140) which is essentially a new bolt-on supercharger kit. The kit boosts power output to about 550hp and 470 lb-ft of torque on pump gas. Currently by adding the kit it will not retain your factory warranty. Those who wish to wait until fall for the Roush kit will be able to keep the current factory warranty intact while Roush will offer a 90-day parts warranty on the supercharger components.
Ferrari 458 Italia Reportedly Recalled for Fire Risk Issue

Reportedly Ferrari has issued recall letters to owners of the 458 Italia due to a fire risk. Lately we have seen a few instances of the Ferrari 458 Italia catching fire for an unknown reason virtually destroying the affected vehicles. You too have probably seen these horrid photos posted over the internet lately of 458’s engulfed in flames. Owners of 458 Italia’s have chimed in on the FerrariChat forum allegedly reporting that they have received a letter from Ferrari allegedly issuing a recall.
[sources: Jalopnik, FerrariChat]
UPDATE: The fires were mostly the result of glue under the rear bumper heating up from the hot exhaust and thus causing a fire. Ferrari has addressed the issue and reported that several of the ‘fire cases’ were not the fault of the driver.
Blue Devil vs Blue Angel Drag Race Video: Corvette ZR1 vs. F/A-18 Hornet

If you have ever seen the Blue Angels in action at an airshow, then you know just how awesome they are. Better yet, if you have ever been lucky enough to strap in the cockpit of an F/A-18 Hornet, then you really can contest to how much of a bad-assed jet it really is. The new Corvette ZR1 is probably one of the closest things you can experience on land similar to a jet fighter (excluding the Bugatti Veyron of course). MotorTrend takes the ZR1 (Blue Devil) out against a Blue Angel F/A-18 Hornet for a drag race to 100mph just to see who would really win. Remember, the ZR1 can reach 60mph from a standstill in 3.3 second in part due to its 638 horsepower Supercharged V8. On the other hand, the F/A-18 Hornet packs in over 32,000 lbs of thrust making it capable of mach 1.8 (1,400mph). Check out the video below and enjoy!
