With this being an Automotive Enthusiast site, it seems like each month we post new creations coming out of John Hennessey’s Texas shop. After-all, his cars can be said to be among the fastest in America and we like to cover just about all of them on AutomotiveAddicts.com. One of the latest performance packages takes the Cadillac CTS-V to heights unheard of in a territory dominated by twin-turbo Italian sports cars and big American muscle Vipers, Vettes and Ford GTs. It’s the 1000+ horsepower club where you need not apply unless you have ‘marbles’ the size of Texas.
There is no doubt that everything is bigger in Texas including the new Cadillac CTS-V Coupe V1000 that Hennessey and his team has set out to build. That’s about 444 horsepower more than a stock Cadillac CTS-V Coupe if you are keeping tally. A 427 LS V8 is used only it has been outfitted with two turbos, high flow cylinder heads, upgraded fuel injectors, low compression forged pistons, forged connecting rods and a revised ECU. All of these tweaks yield 1000 horsepower and 950 ft-lbs. of torque good for 0-60 mph runs in 3.5 seconds, 10.9 seconds in the quarter mile and a top speed of 230 mph.
