Genesis has officially unveiled the highly-anticipated 2024 Genesis GV80 Coupe, a dynamic powerhouse boasting an impressive 409 horsepower. This revelation comes on the heels of the GV80 Coupe Concept’s initial debut at the 2023 New York Auto Show, where Genesis left audiences eagerly anticipating its production.

Anticipation didn’t have to linger for long, as the luxury arm of Hyundai is now introducing the road-ready version of the GV80 Coupe in its home market of South Korea. Enthusiasts there can expect to see this remarkable coupe-SUV hybrid hit showroom floors on October 11. It’s a model that enters the scene with a formidable challenge to rivals, notably the BMW X6.

One glance at the GV80 Coupe, and it’s evident that Genesis remains faithful to the original concept showcased in the Big Apple. The vehicle stands tall on exclusive 20- and 22-inch wheels, exuding an aura of sportiness and elegance. Notably, it retains the concept’s sporty roof spoiler and sports a striking quad exhaust system on the flagship model. Genesis has also bestowed the GV80 Coupe with a glitzy dual mesh radiator grille, setting it apart from the crowd. What’s more, customers will be delighted to have a palette of 12 exterior colors to choose from, including the exclusive Bering Blue shade, a unique offering not available on any other Genesis model.

Stepping inside the GV80 Coupe, one encounters a cabin that exemplifies luxury and sophistication. The most significant departure from the concept is the wide 27-inch infotainment screen that dominates the dashboard. It appears as a seamless, massive display rather than two screens pieced together. The gear selector and infotainment knob are adorned with a swanky crystal finish, reminiscent of high-end BMW products. While the concept featured bucket seats, the production model replaces them with more comfortable leather-lined seats and a three-passenger rear bench, ensuring an elevated level of comfort and practicality.

The interior of the GV80 Coupe continues to impress with its meticulous attention to detail. A two-tone steering wheel, real wood trim, leather upholstery, and aluminum accents contribute to an overall premium ambience. The center console houses capacitive-touch climate controls, adding a touch of modernity to the interior. Moreover, the rear seats are designed to recline, enhancing both comfort and practicality. Genesis offers a variety of interior color options, including three new choices: Glacier White, Earth Brown, and Bordeau Brown.

Turning our attention to technical specifications, the 2024 Genesis GV80 Coupe is no slouch in terms of size and power. It measures 195.4 inches in length, with a generous wheelbase of 116.3 inches. The vehicle spans 77.7 inches in width and reaches a height of 67.3 inches. A standard all-wheel-drive layout is complemented by an eight-speed automatic transmission. Regardless of the engine choice, all versions come equipped with a sizable 21.1-gallon (80-liter) fuel tank.

Under the hood, the GV80 Coupe offers a range of powertrains to cater to different preferences. The base model is equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-liter gasoline inline-four engine, generating 304 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. For those seeking more vigor, there’s the option of a larger twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, churning out 380 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. However, the true power aficionados can revel in the same V6 engine, now supercharged with an electric assist, delivering an astonishing 409 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque.

Genesis enthusiasts will be delighted to know that the regular GV80 SUV also receives these updates. Both the GV80 and GV80 Coupe are set to make their debut at the prestigious 2023 Busan International Film Festival next month, marking a significant moment in the automotive world.
