The 2024 BMW 5 Series has secured its position as a leader in automotive safety by earning the prestigious TOP SAFETY PICK+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This recognition reaffirms BMW’s commitment to providing not only luxurious driving experiences but also ensuring the utmost safety for its occupants.

To achieve the TOP SAFETY PICK+ in 2023, the 5 Series had to meet stringent criteria set by the IIHS. This included obtaining a good rating in critical areas such as the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, original moderate overlap front, and updated side tests. In addition, the vehicle needed to feature headlights rated as acceptable or good across all trims. Furthermore, a front crash prevention system was required, earning advanced or superior ratings in both daytime and nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations.

The newly redesigned 2024 5 Series not only met but exceeded these rigorous standards. The vehicle boasts a comprehensive safety suite that encompasses all the necessary elements for the coveted “plus” designation. Notably, the standard front crash prevention system delivered superior ratings in both daytime and nighttime tests, underlining its efficacy in preventing potential collisions. Furthermore, all trims come equipped with good-rated headlights, further enhancing visibility and safety on the road.

The significance of the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award lies not only in its stringent requirements but also in the peace of mind it offers to consumers. With the 5 Series meeting all crash test requirements and excelling in safety technology, potential buyers can trust that this luxury car prioritizes their well-being.
