Ford is unleashing the Mustang GTD onto the international road racing scene with an ambitious strategy aimed at conquest. The GTD, forged to be a high-performance weapon, is set to make its mark on European circuits, coinciding with its grand debut at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 21.

To chronicle the evolution of this high-powered pony car, Ford is embarking on a digital journey, commencing with a captivating series that offers an inside look into the GTD’s development. The initial installment of this digital saga comes in the form of CGI images, providing a glimpse into the GTD’s fierce capabilities.

According to Ford’s announcement, these visuals are crafted to mirror the dynamic essence of the Mustang GTD, setting the stage for an immersive online experience. The campaign is poised to evolve beyond static images, hinting at forthcoming video content across popular social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok.

Greg Goodall, the Chief Program Engineer for the Mustang GTD, underscores the rigorous testing the car has undergone in North America, including demanding laps at renowned tracks like Sebring International Raceway and Virginia International Raceway. Goodall reveals that the ultimate goal is to conquer the Nürburgring in under seven minutes, with dedicated European road tests and Nürburgring sessions slated as the next phase of the GTD’s journey.

Excitement mounts as the GTD prepares to grace European circuits, with appearances scheduled at prominent events like the 24 Hours of Spa and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Ford’s marketing machinery is revving up, poised to capitalize on the anticipation by opening reservations for the GTD in June. With over 7,500 potential customers already expressing interest in securing a GTD for 2025 and 2026, the spotlight now shifts to European enthusiasts, eagerly awaiting their chance to claim a piece of the Mustang GTD legacy.
