The new 2022 Acura RDX receives some updates along with a refreshed face, almost making it discernable from its larger MDX 3-row sibling. As a luxury compact SUV, the Acura RDX seemingly came out of nowhere to win over growing families and those who sought after a reliable crossover with luxury that doesn’t break the bank. Such a formula has worked well for Acura as the RDX was one of the brand’s bestsellers, and now, with the 2022 refresh, it looks to keep up the pace.
The 2022 RDX continues to be powered by its 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque as the single powertrain choice that can power the front wheels or all four through the Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) system as a $2,000 option. A 10-speed automatic transmission also carries over.
A reworking of the trim package offerings opens up the RDX A-Spec to get the Advance package or Technology package. Moreover, an RDX PMC Edition (Acura Performance Manufacturing Center Edition) will now be available limited to 200 examples during the launch of the 2022 model year, which will all be hand-built at the performance manufacturing center in Ohio featuring the Orchid Milano leather upholstery in Long Beach Blue Pearl with gloss-black Diamond Pentagon grille and Berlina Black 20-inch wheels. Other treatments include painted gloss black exterior trim and roof along with dark chrome finished round exhaust outlets.
To top things off, the new 2022 Acura RDX will improve upon its active safety measures with Acura’s expanded AcuraWatch suite of features, now including blind-spot info with lane change assist, front and rear low-speed braking control, rear seatbelt reminder, and rear outboard seatbelts with pre-tensioning and load-limiting technology.
Pricing for the new 2022 Acura RDX starts at $38,445 for the base model, $49,245 for the top Advance trim with AWD, and $52,995 for the RDX PMC Edition. The new 2022 RDX will show up at dealerships and fill order banks starting in November 2021.
