4cyl Drag Race Video – 2010 Toyota Camry vs. 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Everyone wants to beat Toyota into the ground lately due to their unfortunate “issues” but let’s face it, Toyota has had one of the best reputations for building a quality vehicle in the history of automobiles and that’s just a fact. All sticky gas pedal jokes aside, Toyota is still a worthy contender even if Hyundai, among others, are trying to dethrone Toyota of being quality king. What about performance king in the midsized car segment? How about a drag race of Hyundai’s newest 4-cylinder Sonata up against what used to be the best selling midsized sedan in the country? We know that a drag race only measures one performance angle but it is a good start.

Love it or hate it, this is really it, the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata. We have witnessed several renditions of what the new Hyundai Sonata would look like and some of them were not off by far. The new stylish design resembles that of a VW Passat CC or even the Benz CLS with roof lines that mimic a coupe. Visually the car looks totally different from one end to the other.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Rendering
In a week’s time, Hyundai will be officially introducing the world to its latest iteration of the Sonata. If the success of the Genesis (Hyundai’s larger coupe/sedan), both in sales and drive-ability is any indication, we have a lot to be excited about. The good news for us, and certainly a headache for Hyundai, photographs of this big release have been leaked for the world to drool over.

2009 New York International Auto Show: Hyundai Equus
I had to do a double take to make sure this was not the new Lexus LS460 on display at the New York International Auto Show. Come to find out it was the Hyundai Equus.
Sources such as InsideLine have reported that Hyundai has plans to bring the Equus to North America in the next two to three years. Featured at the 2009 New York International Auto Show is the full sized, and I mean FULL SIZED, Hyundai Equus. The price is estimated to start at $96,000 in the current condition. Hopes are that once it reaches the states is it will cost a lot less considering the other cars that it is put up against. I realize Hyundai is the “stuff” now but almost $100K for a Hyundai in America, we have yet to have an economy to support such a thing. I may be forced to take my $100K and buy a new BMW 7-series with more gadgets than you could ever imagine vs. buying a $100K Hyundai.
Hyundai Sweetens Assurance Incentive Covering Job Loss
February 19, 2009 by Malcolm

Hyundai, as you may already know from the commercials, offered a Hyundai Assurance sales incentive that allowed consumers to return their new Hyundai vehicle within a year of purchase if they were to lose their job. Now, Hyundai has sweetened the deal even more. Hyundai is now offering the Hyundai Assurance Plus program which will, in addition to the original agreement, pay the vehicle loan or lease for 90 days during the year while the owner looks for a new job. If the own keeps the vehicle in the process (after the 90 days when payments resume) the payments do not need to be repaid.
During our slumping economy plans or incentives such as these gain a lot of traction and makes people really consider purchasing a brand that offers such a program. Let’s face it, it is a very real reality that you have to foot your car notes after lose of a job because 9 times out of 10, you will need that vehicle to help you search for a new job. Hyundai has you covered. But you must act now if you wish to purchase a new Hyundai and take advantage of this program. The Hyundai Assurance Plus incentive will be offered from February 23rd to April 30th.
