Bentley is celebrating 80 years in Crewe, England, with a one-of-one 2027 Continental GTC that leans fully into the brand’s bespoke side. Built by Mulliner, Bentley’s in-house personal commissioning division, this special convertible marks the milestone with a dramatic purple theme that feels equal parts craftsmanship exercise and rolling showpiece. It is not subtle, but subtle was clearly never the mission here.
The centerpiece is Bentley’s Supernova Purple Ombre paint, which blends from Supernova Purple at the front into Supernova Purple Dark toward the rear. The gradient finish gives the Continental GTC a custom look that feels far more involved than a simple special-edition color. Bentley also adds “80” graphics along the sides with a reverse ombre effect, tying the design back to the Crewe anniversary while showing off what Mulliner can do when a customer wants something truly individual.
The purple theme carries into the details. The wheels feature purple accents on the spokes, while the cabin gets “80” embroidery on the headrests and an airbrushed dashboard graphic depicting Bentley’s design studio in Crewe. That last touch gives the car more meaning than a typical one-off paint exercise, since it directly honors the place where Bentley has built its modern identity for eight decades. It also fits the Continental GTC perfectly, a car already known for mixing grand touring comfort with enough craftsmanship to make every surface feel intentional.
Mechanically, this one-off follows the current Continental GTC formula. That means a plug-in hybrid powertrain pairing a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with an electric motor and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission for a combined 671 horsepower. Bentley has not announced pricing for this single example, but with Mulliner involvement, bespoke paintwork, and last year’s GTC Mulliner models already starting around $386,450, it would not be surprising to see this anniversary build land somewhere above $400,000. For Bentley, that is the point: this is less about transportation and more about turning 80 years of Crewe craftsmanship into a very purple, very memorable rolling celebration.
