Our friends at BMWBlog posted new renderings from TopSpeed of the upcoming BMW 1 Series M Coupe alongside of the Audi RS3. This could be a new rivalry building up against two premium German pocket-rockets. In terms of a numbers battle, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe will have between 340-350 horsepower from its turbocharged inline 6-cyl. The new Audi RS3 is rumored to get with the same 2.5-liter 5-cyl turbocharged engine from the Audi TT RS that makes 340 horsepower.
Also, don’t forget that you can get discounted new car pricing with a free quote through qualified local dealer partners.
Of course as an Audi tradition the RS3 will have a QUATTRO all-wheel-drive system which makes us think the RS3 will be considerably heavier than the rear-wheel-drive 1 Series M Coupe. The 1 Series M Coupe is likely to only get a 6-speed manual while the RS3 may get the option of a S Tronic dual-clutch tranny.
Who would win in an out-right drag race? What about around the track? Only time will tell once these two marvels hit the streets.
