Automotive enthusiasts and journalists are expecting to see the new Toyota FT-86 Concept in the flesh at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show in March. To spice things up a bit, Toyota has released a teaser photo of a FT-86 II Concept variant. So far no specific details have been released on this new ‘II’ edition of the FT-86 Concept, obviously based off of the original FT-86 Concept design, which will supposedly be branded as a Scion to reach young buyers when it makes its official debut.
Could this FT-86 II Concept be a 300-plus horsepower version of the new Toyota? The Subaru version of the FT-86 Concept is slated to get a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat 4-cyl good for about 260 horsepower. We may not know the significance of this photo until the Geneva Auto Show. Until then, keep your fingers crossed it is something ‘good’ to finally resurrect that sportiness that has been missing from Toyota ever since the Supra in 98’.
