Canadian automaker Campagna introduced it’s all new T-Rex 16STM yesterday. Coming in addition to the already popular 14R, Campagna dropped the 1.4L 4 cylinder Kawasaki engine in exchange for a 1.6L BMW 6 cylinder. The 6 cylinder T-Rex counterpart puts down 160 horsepower, and 129 pound-feet of torque. While the horsepower in the 16STM is less than the 14R’s 197 horsepower, it does have a 16 pound-feet increase to make up for the loss. We will have to wait for road test results to see how it actually compares.
After taking a long time to meet the specs Campagna required, the BMW K1600 GTL sport bike engine, transmission, and guts have been completely modified to work wonderfully in the three wheeled monster. Despite the integration of BMW’s heart and soul, no other major changes have been announced in body design. The new T-Rex 16STM is said to be available in June and available in 8 different color options.
