In an automotive world filled with constant evolution and change, the Dodge Durango made headlines, particularly with its thrilling SRT Hellcat model. Dodge recently confirmed that the Hellcat-powered Durango will continue to roar into the upcoming model year. This announcement coincided with some updates for the 2024 Durango, sparking speculation about the future of this beloved SUV.

One thing is certain; the Durango SRT Hellcat remains a heart-pounding thrill ride for enthusiasts. However, it seems that the Durango itself may be at a crossroads, as rumors swirl about its potential retirement or transformation into a larger SUV with a new identity.

The changes for the 2024 model year Durango include the Citadel trim now having access to the Tow N Go Package, a feature previously exclusive to the R/T trim. This package combines towing capabilities from the Trailer Tow Group with luxurious and performance-oriented elements. It includes features like headlight leveling, an adaptive suspension, SRT performance exhaust, four drive modes, active noise canceling, 20-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires, powerful Brembo brakes, and a top speed of 145 mph. For the 2023 model year, this package was priced at $5,990 and significantly boosts the towing capacity of the four-wheel-drive Citadel from 7,400 pounds to an impressive 8,700 pounds.

Safety is also a priority for Dodge in 2024, with blind spot monitoring becoming standard equipment across the entire Durango lineup. Additionally, the Trailer Tow Group now includes Blind Spot Monitoring with Trailer Detect, enhancing safety when towing trailers.

As for pricing, Dodge has not yet disclosed the official figures for the 2024 Durango, but early indications suggest that we can expect only modest price increases.

As the automotive world eagerly awaits Dodge’s official pricing announcement, there’s a sense of finality in the air. Similar to the Ram 1500 TRX pickup, the Durango might bid farewell at the end of this year with a special edition, marking the end of an era for this beloved SUV. Whether the Durango’s journey continues or takes a new direction remains to be seen, but for now, enthusiasts can relish the prospect of yet another exhilarating year with the Durango SRT Hellcat.
