Even though gas prices have recently dropped to nearly record low levels for the past few years, there is still a movement of folks vying for alternative fuel and electric vehicles. During our recent Automotive Addicts Cars and Coffee event helping our local power authority, JEA, kick off National Drive Electric week, it was evident of the widespread support of EVs and all of the technology surrounding them that make them hum.
I was able to meet up at our local Whole Foods market on San Jose BLVD. to help conclude Jacksonville, FL’s regional National Drive Electric week’s celebration meeting many owners of new Chevrolet Volts, BMW i3s, Nissan Leafs, Tesla Model S, Ford C-Max, Ford Fusion Hybrids, Cadillac ELRs, and maybe a Toyota Prius or two thrown into the mix. The event was evidence of a local movement to drive electric even if it means purchasing a new an electric vehicle with a range extender or an outright Hybrid.
Those interested in the Electric Vehicle movement now have more choices than ever. Even our own hometown of Jacksonville, FL will have nearly 29 new charging stations made available within the next year.
