New Release: Domestics Lead Imports For 1st Time in J.D. Power 2010 Initial Quality Study

The J.D. Power 2010 Initial Quality Study (IQS) has been released ranking domestics over imports for 1^st time ever. The annual J.D. Power 2010 Initial Quality Study measures problems reported per 100 vehicles (PP100) where a lower score on the chart indicates a lower rate of problems and naturally higher quality.

This year several Domestic brands such as Ford/Lincoln ranked higher than many import brands for the first time in the history of the IQS survey which has been conducted on vehicles for 24 years now.

One impressive note to make is that Acura has topped the list right under Porsche which made an increase from previous years. Also in the top running you will find Lexus (once again) and then Mercedes-Benz which has made a big leap over the past few years on the IQS.

Does this reflect the current state of America’s economy? Take it for what you want but it just may be the case with our growing domestic brands and that tried-and-true spirit of America starting to shine brighter.
