The Japanese automotive giant has officially confirmed that the upcoming model is indeed the Crown Estate, and its unveiling is scheduled for November 14.
In their latest teaser, Toyota has been somewhat tight-lipped about the specific details, only providing a cryptic message that reads, “Come with us to new heights. A bold new adventure with Toyota Crown starts on November 14 at 10 P.M. ET.” However, what we do know is that while it is called the Estate in Japan, Toyota USA has categorized it as an all-wheel-drive SUV featuring a hybrid drivetrain.
As for the engine options available in the American market, Toyota has not yet disclosed any specific details. Nevertheless, it has been confirmed that the Crown Estate (or whatever it may be named for the American market) will be exclusively available with hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains. There is a strong anticipation that the new Crown variant will be equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing an impressive 231 horsepower. Power from this engine is expected to be distributed to all four wheels through an e-CVT (electric continuously variable transmission).
