This model boasts a staggering 805 horsepower, making it the most powerful vehicle in the SL lineup to date. To achieve this remarkable power, the automaker has ingeniously combined a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with AMG’s Electric Drive Unit, resulting in a breathtaking 1,047 pound-feet of torque.
One of the key features of the SL63 S E Performance is its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) configuration. Equipped with a 400-volt, 6.1-kilowatt-hour battery pack developed by AMG, the car not only ensures optimal power delivery but also offers around 8.0 miles of purely electric driving. The V8 engine itself contributes 603 horsepower, while the electric motor adds an additional 201 horsepower to the mix.
