Acura has unveiled the 2025 MDX SUV, showcasing several upgrades encompassing refreshed styling, cutting-edge technology, and enhanced safety features. Positioned as Acura’s flagship following the discontinuation of the RLX, the mid-size luxury crossover receives significant updates aiming to solidify its status in the market.

One of the prominent changes is the introduction of a new 12.3-inch touchscreen interface, which replaces the touch-sensitive trackpad, streamlining the user experience. Mamadou Diallo, Senior VP of American Honda Auto Sales, emphasizes the comprehensive enhancements, citing advancements in technology, an intuitive interface, and top-tier Bang & Olufsen luxury audio systems across all trims.

Visually, all MDX variants receive a more assertive front fascia for the 2025 model year, characterized by a redesigned open-frame Diamond Pentagon grille and revamped mesh. The MDX A-Spec model inherits the sporty aesthetics of the MDX Type S, featuring distinctive blacked-out elements and redesigned 20-inch wheels. Meanwhile, the Type S model receives notable updates such as an “open-surface mesh” grille and redesigned 21-inch wheels, enhancing its performance-oriented appeal.

In terms of color options, the 2025 MDX introduces new choices like Canyon River Blue Metallic and Urban Gray Pearl, adding further customization possibilities for buyers. Inside the cabin, the cumbersome Acura True Touchpad is replaced by the more intuitive 12.3-inch touchscreen interface, offering seamless integration with Google and wireless smartphone connectivity.

Moreover, Acura elevates the audio experience by partnering with Bang & Olufsen, equipping MDX models with advanced sound systems featuring an array of speakers strategically positioned for optimal acoustics. The MDX Type S with Advance Package stands out with an exclusive 31-speaker B&O setup, ensuring an immersive audio experience.

On the safety front, the MDX Type S with Advance Package now includes AcuraWatch 360 as standard, boasting upgraded hardware and additional driver assists such as Active Lane Change Assist and Lane Change Collision Mitigation. Enhanced safety features encompass improved obstacle identification and an extended range for the blind spot warning system, further enhancing passenger protection.

While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, the 2025 Acura MDX and MDX Type S are set to arrive at dealerships in May, offering consumers an enhanced driving experience with its blend of style, technology, and safety features.
