Details on the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept come out ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show coupled with a new video. There has been a wide open speculation as far as the powerplant found in this new concept but now is known to be compromised of a plug-in hybrid system with a 3-cyl turbo-diesel engine. That astonishing factor of the equation is that BMW plans to get “M” (Motorsport) performance out of this plug-in hybrid claiming a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds while still able to get hybrid fuel saving figures at the same time.

550hp V-10 Powered Manhart BMW Z4 Revealed

Not many tuners have touched the BMW Z4 let alone turned it into a tuners dream-car until now. Manhart Racing, a German company known for stuffing big V10’s and V12’s in cars that were never originally designed for them, has taken the BMW M5’s V10 and put it in one of their latest creations, a BMW Z4M. Already, the Z4 M is not slouch sharing the S54 engine from the BMW M3 producing about 343hp. Why not slap a supercharger on that inline-6, no no, Manhart had to take it a few notches up… BAAM… A big V10 powers this Z4.

You are still hard-pressed to find a desirable moded Godzilla, or Nissan GT-R, that has been improved in all performance aspects of the vehicle. Steve Millen’s crew has done just that with a leaner and meaner beast of a GT-R. This one is magnificent!

Texting While Driving – How serious is it and do we need laws in place to Ban It?

While we enter the season of youngsters returning to school it reminds us of when we used to be a teenager faced with peer pressure, an acne filled face and maybe if we were fortunate enough, a car to drive to school. Although I never got a car until after high school, I can never recall a situation where I used my cell phone while driving, let alone, texting while driving. Simply put, the reason was, we didn’t have cell phones. Today surveys and “studies” will tell you that over 85% of teens will have a cell phone before graduating from high school. Of those teens, a majority of them will be guilty of texting while driving. It is not only teenagers that are texting while driving, adults of all ages are just as guilty.

The British Steam Car Challenge Finally Sets World Speed Record

After all of the failed, or stalled, attempts, the British Steam Car Challenge team has set out to accomplish what they came to do, set the world record for the Fastest Kettle in the World. A big congratulations goes out to the team and major kudos for staying the coarse to make this accomplishment. They could have easily gave up and called it but they persevered while the driver, Charles Burnett III, manages to reach a speed of 136mph and then a stunning 151.085mph on the second run.
