The American version of Top Gear is back for its third season, beginning on Tuesday, February 14 at 9:00. All three hosts return, so expect to see more drifting from Tanner Foust, more jokes from Adam Ferrara and more flannel from Rutledge Wood. If the clips we’ve seen so far are any indication, it looks like the series’ budget may be creeping upward with its ratings, and that’s a good thing. Read more…

Some say that his oversized baseball cap houses a family of ferrets, and that his first words were “light ‘em up:” all we know is that he’s called… Ken Block. Shoe entrepreneur, world rally driver and professional hoon Ken Block has a good gig. He gets paid (well, we presume) to beat cars to death on camera, and then he gets to turn over the keys and say, “sorry about that.” Read more…

When Top Gear USA debuted in 2010, many Top Gear fans slammed the U.S. take on the popular British docudrama. Top Gear USA struggled for ratings in its first season, thanks in part to an odd dynamic between the show’s hosts. There was Tanner Foust, a pro driver with (seemingly) little sense of humor; Adam Ferrara, a genuinely funny guy with little ability to drive a car at speed; and Rutledge Wood, whose biggest claim to fame appeared to be the world’s most extensive flannel collection. How could these three guys compete with the likes of Clarkson, May and Hammond? Read more…

Some automotive enthusiasts who grew up watching Jeremy Clarkson on the original Top Gear have expressed their brutal honesty towards the new Top Gear USA show staring Tanner Foust, Adam Ferrara and Rutledge Wood. In most of the cases they either loved it or hated it. Regardless, one thing to love about the show is the hoonary that goes on including Tanner’s recent spin in John Hennessey’s daily driven 650-horsepower Cadillac CTS-V Wagon. Check him out going for a ‘milk-run’ as he says in the video below. Also, be sure to check out new Top Gear USA episodes on Sundays @ 10/9c on the History Channel.

Are you a fan of the wit and wisdom of Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson? Do you prize your signed copy of his “Heaven and Hell” DVD above all else (even if he did sign it, “Sod off, Jeremy”)? Are you looking for a 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder with the steering wheel and pedals on the wrong side of the car? If so, I’ve got good news for you – his former ride is up for sale, although he’s not the one selling it. Actually, the car is being sold by its current owner, who bought it from Clarkson. The current owner (and the car, presumably) is in the UK, but the ad is being featured by an Australian website, J-Spec Imports. If you’ve got the $145,000 asking price, you may want to do a little digging before you blindly wire transfer the funding from your account to theirs. Read more…

As we inch close to a new Top Gear season, the most loved automotive show has to select a replacement driver since the outgoing Stig (Ben Collins) no longer gets to wear the white helmet and racing suit. Once again, the new Stig’s identity is kept a secret while Jeremy Clarkson does his typical cynical introduction for a man who has no words to share with anyone. There have already been new speculations circulating in the UK as to who the new Stig is. Check out the funny 2010 MPH show video clip of how Top Gear supposedly chooses their new Stig.
