Bentley was founded in 1919. Bentley, currently known for its ultra-luxury vehicles, split from its Rolls-Royce roots in 1998 purchased by Volkswagen Group. BMW retained the rights to the Rolls-Royce name while Bentley and Rolls-Royce split apart in 2003.
